I Can't Read Music?!

I never learned to read music. I've tried in the past many times, but couldn't get it. I know a few notes like the whole note, quarter note, half note, but when it was all together in music form, I never understood it. I tried. That was many years ago. Years down the road, I taught myself how to read tabs. That's how I learned to play the bass guitar. I understood the tabs, where each one was located, and which number was. The first song I ever learned 'correctly' was 'Anarchy In The UK' by the Sex Pistols. I was so proud of myself! I had the tabs written on the back of a receipt in red. I still have it to this day. The second song I learned correctly was another Pistol's song called 'Bodies'. That's my favorite one to play. It's not too fast or too slow. It's the perfect speed for me. I get so into the song when playing it. Another one I am proud of is Mötley Crüe's song 'The Dirt'. I never could find the bass tabs for it, so I taught myself the song by ear. I don't think it's correct, but I'm proud of myself on that one. For the longest time I was so embarrassed to admit I couldn't read music. After learning that Nikki Sixx can't read music, and does tabs like me, I was so relieved! I feel bad saying that, but Nikki's my biggest idol, hero, and #1... Everything really. Now I'm not ashamed or embarrassed to say I can't read music. I just say I read in tabs. That's all thanks to Nikki Sixx. <3 \m/ In the past, I've written some of my own tabs. Just small things I thought of, then tried to play it. If a note didn't sound how I wanted it too, I tried again until it sounded right to me. I've never posted any lyrics online except Facebook a long time ago, because I don't want anyone stealing them from me. I know I can get them copyrighted, but I don't know how too... If anyone knows how I can keep my lyrics safe, please let me know! :) There wasn't much to say about this blog, but I'm glad I shared it. It's like a huge weight off my shoulders. I know I don't get any reads or reviews on my blog yet, but for future readers, I wanna thank you! You don't have to like my blogs, cause all that matters to me is that they're being read. I'm so thankful for that alone. :) \m/ Keep rockin' and goodnight!

The Lost Boys

I may have a huge passion for music, but my other passion is movies. My all time favorite movie is 'The Lost Boys'(1987) with Kiefer Sutherland and Corey Feldman. I remember the first time I saw the movie. Well... Part of it. I was with my mom for the summer. She showed me this movie(The Lost Boys) and when I first saw the cover I thought, 'This guy's cute. He reminds me of Billy Idol.' I asked my mom who he was and said he's cute. After that my mom said "You like Kiefer(Sutherland)!" in a tone someone would sound like if they said 'Ooh, you have a crush on (whoever)'. I smiled and felt fluttered. We started to watch the movie. About halfway in the movie, I went outside to ride my bike like it was a motorbike like my 'Lost Boys'. I pretended I was going for a ride with them, even though I was just going in circles around the trailer. I came back in at the end of the movie and the scene with Michael(Jason Patrick) and David's fight. After what happened with David(Kiefer), I kinda silently said 'no...'. I was so sad. My heart literally sank and I felt empty. A few years later when I was in my mid-late teens, I watched it again with my young cousin at a hair stylist place. (My grandma and aunt were getting their hair done I believe) Once again, my heart sank when my Lost Boys died... I was heartbroken... And pissed off... Heh. After that I had a crush on Marko(Alex Winter), then Paul(Brooke McCarter-RIP<3), and Dwayne(Billy Wirth). When 'Lost Boys: The Tribe' came out, I watched it with my cousin and aunt. We were at their place. In two, during a scene 'near' the end, the Lost Boys vamped out and fed on these girls. I saw their faces and honestly, they scared me. I laugh looking back at it for being scared. When I saw it a second time years later, I thought 'What the hell was I afraid of?'. One of the vampires, Jon(Kyle Cassie), I understood why I was afraid of him. He was the 'don't f with me type'. I mean, all vampires are, but Jon was like.. Ace Merrill from 'Stand By Me', but ten times worse. Sometime after that, I watched 'The Tribe' again and thought they were hot. I still do, to this day. I love all my Lost Boys from 1, 2, and 3. Yes! There's a third one. It came out in 2010. My crush in that one was(and still is) Dj X played by Seb Castang. I fell for Dj way before the movie came out. The alpha vampire, Peter, as well. A while after that, I didn't care about Peter because he didn't give a sh** about Dj(X). In this one, my Lost Boys(and girls!) were SO close to defeating Edgar and Alan. For a once I actually kinda cried when one of my Lost Boys died..(Dj) When I say my Lost Boys mean everything to me, I mean they mean EVERYTHING to me. Since I saw the first on in Wyoming, they meant the world to me. I am still overly obsessed with my Lost Boys. <3 A lot of people hate on two and three, especially two. I love them so much, I wanted to get permanent vampire fangs forever. I still do to this day, and plan to save up for it. Not only that, but I love writing lyrics and poems about my Lost Boys. Most of it's about me wishing they were real and would come take me with them. I can't tell you how bad and how much I'd give ANYTHING for that to happen. I still daydream about it constantly. I always wondered if they were real, if my depression and anxiety would go away. I know it won't... They are half of my heart, and the other half is my favorite band ever, Mötley Crüe. I hope you enjoyed tonight's blog! I will post again tomorrow. Have a good night!

80's Hair Bands/Glam Metal!

Ever since I was thirteen, I've been obsessed with eighty's hair bands/hair metal. Whichever you wanna call it! Glam metal's another one. For those who don't know about eighty's rock, there's bands I bet you've heard of. Mötley Crüe, Poison, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Dokken, and much more! These bands(and many more!) had long, teased hair, glamorous make up, and spandex pants! This generation is my parents generation. Lucky!! I'm so jealous! I have however been to many concerts. My first rock concert in 2012 was Poison, Def Leppard, and Lita Ford. I've always been so scared I'd lose my favorite bands from the seventies and eighties before I had a chance to see them. I still am scared. In 2014 I FINALLY got to see my favorite band in the whole world! Mötley Crüe! They toured with Alice Cooper, whose another artist I've always wanted to see. Every band I mentioned I saw has put on a 'Kickstart My Heart' show! Sorry if that was cheesy. Haha. That's a song by Mötley Crüe is about their bassist, Nikki Sixx's heroin overdose. I'll mention about that a little when I do my blog about Nikki. These hair bands had it all! The sex, drugs, and rock n' roll. I'm not about the drugs unless it's music or movies. Speaking of movies, Mötley Crüe made a book called 'The Dirt: Confessions of the World's Most Notorious Rock Band', which is about their story from childhood to being in Mötley. They made a movie about it  which is really hard for me to watch. I read Nikki's book "The Heroin Diaries: A Year In The Life Of A Shattered Rockstar", and his overdose in 1987 during the Girls, Girls, Girls tour was in the movie... I never wanted to see that on any screen, but they added it.. It was a very important part in both Nikki and Mötley Crüe's life as a band and Nikki's personal life. I don't wanna get into that subject any further because It's so hard to talk about without breaking down or getting emotional. With that said, I think I should make my next blog about my mental health so you understand me more. That's it for tonight's blog! I hope you tune in for more! Thank you!
